Andy Garcia's The Lost City trailer

I really like Andy Garcia, great actor, huge presence. Yet I never knew he Directed, and now he's even taken to writing. Not just that, but he's attracted quite a cast to his latest film, The Lost City.

Here's the IMDB blurb:

Set in Havana, Cuba, during the 50's, a club owner is caught in the turbulent transition from the oppressive regime of Batista to the Marxist government of Fidel Castro. Castro's regime ultimately leads the club owner to flee to New York.

Sound interesting yet? Take a look at some of the cast list - Garcia himself, Dustin Hoffman, Bill Murray and Inés Sastre. Tell me now how interested you are.

I think, although it's rough, with Garcia in the lead and Hoffman looking as though he's playing a slightly different to his norm character, it does look kinda interesting.

My, my, it looks really good!

The Havana backdrop reminds me of "The Godfather 2", that time when Michael Corleone had to do business with Hyman Roth, and then again, to cross link it, Andy Garcia was once Vincent Mancini Corleone.

Imagine if there was Godfather IV and Andy Garcia returned as the new Don. AWWWWW! I'll make him an offer he cant refuse!

Thanks for this Richard, the other day it was Al Pacino, and now Andy Garcia. What about Gerry Butler? ;-)

I'm really excited about this film. Andy brought it to Miami about a year ago to premire it. I wasn't able to catch the premiere nor when he brought it to the Miami Film Festival about a month ago. The tickets sold out a month in advance! Personally, I'm excited because like Andy and most Cuban exiles, I was just tired of how the Castro regime is portrayed on film. Finally a movie about the Cuban revolution, without Hollywood's typical pro-Castro/ pro- Che slant. Andy knew that to expose the truth, he'd have to do it himself. He wrote and directed The Lost City, which only makes me PROUD of my Cuban American hermano! Thank you Andy! It was about time! All of you must see it! It'll be out April 28th in select cities. Finally, Miami will be one of those selected. :o)
