Another Transformers casting rumour

Apparently there is a second name attached to the new Transformers film, and it's Nelix from Star Trek Voyager, otherwise known as Ethan Phillips.

Now this is serious early rumour, so I'm not holding too much water in it, or really much interest. I'm more interested in hearing the voice castings. However, German Trek site Trek Zone breaks the rumour through TrekToday, and it might have some grounding to it.

Any thoughts on the casting yet, with LeBouf already announced, or are you like me, just wanting to hear about the main voicing casts?

What is really making me excited about any news on Transformers is when "they" link from Filmstalker.

Has anyone given any thought to HOW they may be casting?

I just had a thought that they may be in an awkward position, two reasons;

1) This is not like casting a conventional movie, the lead charachter is gonna have to play second fiddle to the titular goliaths. They may not want to cast A listers to play opposite and expose the difficulty of personifying the TF. They risk showing themselves up on two fronts.

and 2) They are gonna have to interact and have on screen relationships with the TF. Granted the TF will probably be better at "emoting" than Hayden Christensen (When sad he looks like a donkey trying to do long division) but would'nt you empathise easier with a non hero type in these roles than say Freddie Prince Jr? Who could convince you that their best friend is a massive 100 ft robot?
