Ghost Rider delayed?

GhostRider.jpgBad news for all you Ghost Rider fans out there, apparently Sony are delaying the release of Ghost Rider because of their poor release run of late and the performance of comic adaptations in general.

From Cinematical:

Sam Elliott, who co-stars with Cage in the Marvel action flick, has stated that Sony's recent box office slump (the company took a major beating last year) has apparently scared them off of the Ghost Rider title for now. "It was supposed to come out this summer," said Elliott, "but it's not." According to Elliott, the film has now been bumped to a President's Day '07 release - and as the LA Daily reminds us February is not typically a hot time for major action flicks.

They are suggesting that maybe Sony are out to bury it...although that never makes sense to me, with a bad film burying it just kills even more numbers going to see it. However from all accounts this has never been a much liked project in its choices, although fans would love to see Rider on the screen, I'm not so sure this is the incarnation they had dreamed of.

Movable Type 3.34

It's possible, Pig, I might be bluffing. It's conceivable, you miserable, vomitous mass, that I'm only lying here because I lack the strength to stand. But, then again... perhaps I have the strength after all. DROP... YOUR... SWORD!
