V for Vendetta reviews

VforVendetta_Poster.jpgI don't tend to take much notice of general critics out there, what I do is I find reviewers I agree with, not just on their film choices but on their day to day beliefs and likes. One such reviewer has just posted his first thoughts on the much anticipated V for Vendetta, and we might just be surprised.

To be honest I was concerned that this would turn out to be another poor graphic novel\comic book adaptation, particularly at the hands of those W-Brothers. However word from a reviewer who I share similar tastes with, Matt at Darkmatters, has much positivity. In fact he's full of praise.

Will post full review when it hits (17 March) but having seen it today, I can confirm that this is right up there with SIN CITY in terms of capturing the look, feel and substance of the original material.

This is a 'must see' movie which delivers thrills, drama and stylish violence...Fans of quality film-making, graphic novels and dark dystopian futures, get excited and book your tickets now!!

Praise indeed. Certainly the teasers I've been catching on TV have been extremely promising...

It was Richard who introduced me to this project when he first discussed it another film site. Since then I have been following up the production and was pleased when I heard that James Purefoy would be part of it but then later backed out for not very clear reasons. Anyway, it will be released in our neck of the woods on March 17, and for sure I will be there!

Simone - you mention James Purefoy so often I'm beginning to think you might b stalking him. ;)

Meli!!! I couldnt stop laughing with this comment actually because I just saw James tonight at the Riverside Studios here in Hammersmith where he performed in a play called "The Exonerated". Wait for an email and my photo taken with him.

But no, nd I am not stalking him!!!!! *winks*

RICH - Cheers for this, am really glad you liked it after this build up... but then as you say, we do seem to share similar tastes in many things (that's why you'll never meet my wife!?).

Anyway - really like FILMSTALKER and will do a promo post and add a sidebar link across from Darkmatters.

Keep up the good work and if you're ever likely to be in London and want to catch a film or a beer, let me know. (Got new day job in April back in the big smoke).

Cheers

Hey Matt! Simone here! Nice to see that youve find your way here too. ;-)

And, MTFBWY.

Matt, great to see you here, don't be a stranger.

Thanks for the links, I'll be using you a few times more I'm sure!

Don't worry, I'm fat and ugly with no personality, your wife would hate me!

Deffo for London. Now I'm on my own site I'll be attending more UK festivals, so I can see myself in the London one this very year. Same goes for you up here.

Hey, can you guys add me to this meet up, I am in London too you know.

Bring the wife Matt, whilst you two scheme things.
;-)
