Mostow leaves Tonight He Comes

JonathonMostow.jpgInteresting news today that Jonathon Mostow has stepped aside from Directorial duties and is now an Executive Producer for the film Tonight, He Comes. Apparently creative differences are being cited between he and Will Smith.

If it's true, frankly I wouldn't blame Smith for getting Mostow away from that helm, after all he ridiculed the Terminator character in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and although it had some great set pieces and some of the plot was good, it was purely executed and both Terminators were just made into jokes. It's bizarre that he's set to Direct Terminator 4 and cock that up too.

According to Superherohype the search is beginning for a new Director. They also say that this has long been considered an unmade gem. Sure, I can see where that's coming from, but a Director has a huge influence on a film, so I wouldn't be counting any sneezing chickens just yet.

Wasnt there some news a while ago now that Will Smith was thinking of retiring from making movies? He's obviously thought and decided to still make 'em? ;-)

Strangely that was just before this movie was announced.
