Sandra Bullock goes serious
Sandra Bullock has just agreed to play the part of Grace Metalious, author of Peyton Place, a tale that promises scandal and a strong emotional performance from the actress.
The news from seattlepi.com has me interested.
...the author Grace Metalious, whose million-selling novel scandalized the nation 50 years ago and eventually ruined the author's life.
The story does promise a lot, but the question is Bullock up to it? Well I think she is. Okay so she does carry this baggage with her that says romantic comedy all over it, but there are some performances that really do stand out. What about 28 Days and Crash? Two superb performances, full of anguish, inner turmoil, emotion, and very much not the Bullock we've come to expect from her movies...(Oh there's such a good line there).
I think that given the strength of this material, and her obvious strong talent, that we could see something good come out of this. I say she should drop the romantic label, enough of that now, let's see more of the Crash and 28 Days that were so enjoyable to watch.
