After directing Saw 2, it seems Darren Lynn Bousman is setting his sites on something radically different (that's sarcasm for you all out there) in his next feature, Wichita.

From Empire comes the news:

It’s a thriller that tracks an unspeakable crime which impacts upon the lives of eight characters. The script was written by Scott Milam.

"What's terrifying about this story is that it's based in reality and could happen to anyone," Milam tells Variety. "It's a slice of Americana gone bad and getting worse."

Wow, totally different to the ideas behind the Saw series (no, I'm not doing a go See Saw joke). Still this guy has shown he can deliver horror and suspense to the screen very well, so why not?
