Ages ago, on a site far, far away, I wrote about a new reality show planned by Stan Lee and the SCI FI Channel that would allow people to become Superheroes...seriously, no kidding.

It works something like this. Get an original idea for a Superhero, create an outfit, and arrive for the auditions. However they do say you must have some Superhero quality, whether that actually be something like flaming fingers or laser beam eyes, I'm not that sure, I think it's more a square jaw and some attitude!

The official site, through Coming Soon, is live and tells you exactly how to apply and what you'll win.

Finalists will leave their former lives behind and live as their brainchild heroes 24/7, all under Stan Lee's watchful eye. Each week, our aspiring heroes will be challenged with competitions designed to test their true superhero abilities. Don't worry, no one will be leaping over tall buildings in a single bound. Our superheroes will be tested for courage, integrity, self-sacrifice, compassion, and resourcefulness, all traits that every superhero must possess. In the end, only one aspiring superhero will have the inner strength and nobility to open the gates to comic-book immortality.

Mmm...I can see this show either making people look totally ridiculous, or having loads of fun. After it all you might just be in your own comic book series, and then perhaps a second rate film with some cheesy actor who'll end up doing mens deodorant adverts!
