V for Vendetta interviews

VforVendetta_Poster.jpgV for Vendetta is fast approaching release, and I'm really excited about it. The graphic novel is really great and by all accounts (bar one very important original author) it's extremely faithful to the story.

So now comes all the marketing, and with it here are some interviews from the Director James McTeigue on Superherohype, Uber-Producer Joel Silver and star Natalie Portman both from Coming Soon.

There's nothing amazing to tell in them, other than the film sounds great and everyone is hyping it up well. The interesting thing for me is nothing to do with Vendetta and is how Silver talks so lovingly about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, he genuinely seems disappointed it didn't do better...as am I!

The only thing I know about this movie is the TV trailer - which has me excited. Mind you, I was looking forward to the matrix sequel as well...

You really have to check out the graphic novel Dave, it's superb.

I was advised to watch the film first before reading the novels and this is because of the many alterations done to the film. I forgot where I got this information from but it claimed that Alan Moore didnt want to be involved at all in this film, and James Purefoy who has already started working in the film left production because of the many alterations being done to it, I guess he wasnt willing to compromise his artistic integrity?

You know what the problem with Hollywood is? They make shit. Unbelievable, unremarkable shit' Now I'm not some grungy wannabe filmmaker that's searching for existentialism through a haze of bong smoke or something. No, it's easy to pick apart bad acting, short-sighted directing, and a purely moronic stringing together of words that many of the studios term as prose. No, I'm talking about the lack of realism. Realism; not a pervasive element in today's modern American cinematic vision.
