V for Vendetta reviews

VforVendetta_Poster.jpgThere has been a lot of concern from both fans of the comic book and film fans in general about the film version of V for Vendetta, could the Wachowski brothers recover from the poor reception (but good performance) of the Matrix series?

From all accounts the reviews are showing a very definite yes. Over at Rotten Tomatoes they are currently (and bear in mind this is changing almost by the minute) showing the rating at 71%, and that's good. However, reading the textual snippets from the reviews and you won't know if you should be going to see it or not.

Reviewers are split between a very poor story with nice set pieces to it being a politically thought provoking movie...Talk about extremes. It'll be an interesting film to see when it gets UK release this weekend.

I am very afraid of this movie, because I have read the comic lots of times since I bought it in the 80s. It´s one of my favourite comics, but anyway I am watching this movie. I hope they don´t ruin it.

Same guy (Peter that is) who told me to watch the movie first before reading the comics. *winks*

Heat magazine (IT BELONGS TO THE WIFE!!!) gave it 2/5. Same as the Pink Panther remake. Not a good omen.

I think I'll read the graphic novel first..

Dave, you will be more disappointed if you read the comic first, that's why I will watch it first then read 'em later.

Yuu just had to tell us the Heat magazine was the wife's. *chuckling*

Aye, Heat magazine is nothing to be proud of! And it ALWAYS gives a spoiler to the next episode of 24. Grrrrrr.

Actually, I may read the graphic novel and miss the movie entirely (given my limited free time). There are plenty of potentially great movies competing for my time *winks*

Well, if you put it that way, go on then! ;-) Pls say hi to the wife!

The heat magazine at my place belongs to the plumber.

As for another comic book to film movie. Surely they have learned from the mistakes of previous big budget flops???

i will watch this film regardless of reviews and report back.

Pablo, and I am guessing you have a female plumber? LOL
