Alicia Keys pushing into film

AliciaKeys.jpgAlicia Keys first real film experience Smokin' Aces is due out soon, and in the meantime she's signed up for another film called The Nanny Diaries alongside Scarlett Johansson, Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney.

Not only that she's started her own production company along with her manager called Big Pita, Lil' Pita to promote more movie projects and original television which will feature Keys. So this isn't a little foray into the film business, this is Keys going straight at it and going for glory.

The IMDB blurb for Aces, caught through NDTVMovies.com, is totally different from her new role as the best friend of the nanny of Johansson...oh to have a nanny and a friend like those two...my younger life would have been so different!

An FBI agent (Reynolds) hunts for a Las Vegas stand up comedian (Piven) who has decided to squeal on the mob but, before he heads off for protective custody, decides to go to the casinos at Lake Tahoe for one last good time, drawing a crowd of assassins (including Affleck and Keys).

Hitlady to a nanny's friend. She's certainly diversifying, but can she act?

Movable Type 3.34

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
- Jack Burton, Big Trouble in Little China
