Casino Royale Poster
The poster for the film Casino Royale has been found and it's looking good. Portraying a darker image of James Bond than we're used to (no I don't mean the hair), it looks more like a scene from the movie Munich than it does traditional Bond.
Not sure where Solace Cinema discovered the poster, but they have a larger version if you want to take a look.
I do agree with what they say about the fuss being made about Daniel Craig. He's Bond now, so live with it, and I think he can do quite a good Bond too. Yet I don't agree that Die Another Day was a debacle, nor does this mark a return to a more realistic Bond.
Die Another Day was without a doubt a return to form for the Bond series, and it gave us the full checklist from Bond. Excitement, toys, danger, over the top villains and set pieces, double crossing, etc. It had everything and it was pretty much on the line of the franchise. It was good fun.
The series never had Bond as dark as this poster suggests, he was a pretty much two dimensional character and whenever a film came along that tried to give him depth, it didn't do so well and usually marked the end for the actor playing him (See Timothy Dalton).
I hope this will be different. Not a return to form at all, but a break from the movie franchise to show us a dark, dangerous and more human Bond. We still have a long wait until the end of the year though.
