Samuel Jackson joins Stephen King

SamuelLJackson.jpgHere's some news I didn't catch until now, the first really good Stephen King film since...well...in a long time, and Samuel L. Jackson has just joined the cast.

With John Cusack already signed up and Mikael Hafstrom set to direct, 1408 could turn into a cracking good film. Here's the blurb of the story from Rope of Silicon:

Jackson will play Olin, the hotel manager at the Dolphin Hotel, in which the tale of Mike Enslin (Cusack) unfolds. Enslin is a debunker of paranormal activity and the notorious Room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel is his latest target.

It's only a 37 page short story apparently, and Brad over at Rope is shouting its praises, well worth a read before the film he suggests, and so I shall. Although part of me wants to approach this quietly and without prior knowledge just to see if this can mark a great King film on screen and I can appreciate it without coming to the cinema prewarned.
