Saw 3 casting revealed

Saw_Poster.jpgLooks like there are a number of returns in the third instalment of the Saw series. Not only will we see Tobin Bell but also Donnie Wahlberg.

The story comes from Your Movies, which reveals two huge spoilers for Saw 2 which are really annoying had you not seen the film like me!

It will also be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. I haven't see the second film, the first had loads of promise, but I thought the sequel move was going to end up like Blair Witch. The first being made for low budget by industry "outsiders" and doing really well, the second being made by the same people who are now indoctrined and controlled (to an extent) by the Execs. However from reports that came out I don't think it turned out that way. Anyone who saw Saw 2 (oh the comedy) please do let us know how you found it.

So is there room for a third? I wish that Wahlberg would get some decent projects though, he's a cool actor and really deserves some meatier (and less bloody!) roles.

I've only just seen Saw 2 this week on DVD, and have been winding the wifey up no end with those endless jokes.

It is really good, there's not many films that have me cringing, but Saw 2 had me doing it more than Saw did. I could easily see where spoilers could be made given the casting for Saw 3. It works as well as the first, maybe more so on the investigation side. Can't say why, as this would give the plot away - it is well linked.

Want to borrow the DVD Rich?

I was very pleased with the Saw movies. The first was new and creative. As horror/thrillers go, it was a refreshing change and I did like the sick and twisted games which were concocted by Jigsaw.

I hadn't seen the second until I purchased both 1 & 2 at the same time on DVD -I love my DVD's-. I sat back and fired up Saw 2. Again, I think the direction they took in the second installment was a good one. It would have been old hat to have victims shown with there challenges one by one. Tossing a group into the mix was a creative move. I also liked how we were given a grander view of Jigsaw the man, and his thought processes. It was a very Hanibal Lectar-esc interview between Wahlberg and the game player -not as good as Lectar but you get the idea-. The riddles and challenges were also creative and yes at times made you cringe.

I wont ruin it for you Rich, but the movie certainly paves the way for a follow up. I would be interested in seeing what would happen next for a few of the left over characters from the 2nd.

Also if this franchise would like to be stretched out a bit, a prequel would not be out of the question. This would allow us to see more how Jigsaw came up with his methods and allowing for more future releases.

All in all Rich, the movies are pretty good - so no worries with watching them.

Cheers

When I first watched Saw I was amazed on how good it was. When I found out they were making a 2nd saw I bought saw one, the extra blood edition. When I saw Saw2 I thought that it was a good idea to make it a group of people traped inside the house and not tell the story of there problems because that would take a long time. [People who havent seen Saw2 please stop reading this article.] In the end of Saw 2 they made it look like Jigsaw, Tobin Bell, died and Amanda took his place. But they are now curently casting people for Saw3 [which comes out October 27, 2006] and one of them was Tobin bell. So obiously he didnt die. I cant wait to see Saw3. They should also make a prequal of how Jigsaw got cancer and became who he is in saw.
