The Celestine Prophecy trailers
The Celestine Prophecy is a book I read a long time ago and was surprised to learn that it was being made into a film, well The Celestine Prophecy movie has arrived.
You can see the trailer, teaser television teaser and behind the scenes footage, all in various formats over at the official site. [QT:Flash:WMV:iPod]
The book, as far as I can remember was quite simplistic to read, had some bizarre and far out ideas, yet a few of them seemed...well...warm, fluffy, and quite nice if they were only possible in today's world. For those of you who don't know the blurb is...
Based on James Redfield's worldwide best-selling novel, The Celestine Prophecy is a spiritual adventure film chronicling the discovery of ancient scrolls in the rainforests of Peru. The prophecy and its nine key insights predict a worldwide awakening, arising within all religious traditions, that moves humanity toward a deeper experience of spirituality.
I suspect this film will only attract the hardened followers of this...well...philosophy of life, but surprisingly the cast has some recognisable names. Annabeth Gish, Hector Elizondo, Joaquim de Almeida (who we last saw in 24) and Jürgen Prochnow who will also be in similar release this year, the Da Vinci Code.
There, perhaps, lies the key to it's success. This is perhaps the poor relation of the Code, which doesn't carry with it the religious storyline, although it could be viewed as equally spiritual.
