Waking Dreams a uniquely funded film

WakingDreams.jpgWaking Dreams is an independent horror film currently in production within the UK. Filming is set for London and Wales, and is the debut of AD Lane the Director. What is interesting about this horror film though is the way it is being funded, entirely independently with some unusual fund raising methods.

You can buy Production credits, space on their pixel advertising board and even creative input to the film. They are even hoping that this film will break the World Record for the most amount of Producers attached to a movie. The packages you can purchase in order to receive a credit or input...

...the associate producer package is $5 - £2.90, gets your name on the big screen and on the site, as well an official certificate,

the excecutive producer package is $10 - £5.50 and it will give you access to add some creativness to the project through online message boards.

We are making the site fairly interactive for people that sign up as producers, giving them a chance to add some creative input into the developement of the movie.

Sounds exciting, and incredibly cheap. Currently they have 76 Producers signed up and a few advertisers on board, but they need much, much more. There are also four Producers who are assisting in the overall project, some of whom have some cool credits behind them...

Lynda Reiss - Hollywood Property Master - "SWAT", "American Beauty", "Cruel Intentions" Reggie Bannister - Horror Actor - "Phantasm 1,2,3,4", "Bubba Ho-tep" Andrea Carnevali - BBC Director, Editor - "The Making Of Dinotopia", "Rome" Steven Nguyen - Actor, Website Designer - "Scrubs", "Las Vegas"

The film itself will deal with possession of the mind, and right now the team of five writers is hard at work on the script, a script which you can have creative input in.

Have a look at the official film site, or the main site. You can even head over to ebay and purchase Producer credits.

They already have the first Podcast up there, some news, list of Producers, and information galore. I can't wait to start hearing more about it, and if you are interested we can get some interviews and inside information on the Project as it grows. As soon as they have a feed, I'll get it on the Insiders page.

Would you be interested in seeing your name on the credits of a film? Well now you can.

I remember that this has been done before by the LotR films with a different twist. Well, they didnt ask for money, nor your name will be alongside the producers as such but if you registered to the LotR fansite, all members names are automatically shown at the end credits of the film.

Ehr no, my name wasnt in any of the films. ;-)

Mmm I would consider being an Executive Producer but only if it meant I could have a huge trailer and an endless supply of beer. Not on set mind you just in the car park at work would be fine.....

Im sure we can sort that out for you Louise.

All my best,

Don't forget, making a film is not enough - you need to know how to market it, too! (Costs *more* money!)
