Bettany isn't the Joker

PaulBettany.jpgPaul Bettany has spoken about the rumours that he might be in line for consideration as the Joker in the next Batman movie.

Over at IGN he speaks out about the press speculation with what may be a little sharpness:

"In truth I haven't heard anything officially. It's a rumour entirely made up by journalists. Or maybe it's a conspiracy by journalists to ruin my negotiation," Bettany said.

He added, "So if they did offer it to me, I'd already have told the press I'd love to do it, so the producers would say, 'Wonderful. Now will you do it for $5 please?'"

Other rumours on the Internet have been saying he's not in the running anymore, but you know, it's all rumour and this casting gossip is getting as bad as Bond did. Perhaps we should wait for some more concrete information? Is Bettany your Joker?

No. My Joker would be either Crispin Glover or Michael Keaton.

Anyway, Crispin Glover is too intelligent to get involved in this kind of movie.

Jim Carrey would do it perfectly, better than Enygma.

I'd like Bettany to play another villain, I'd like to see how he plays Silas first in Da Vinci Code.
