The game Fear Effect from the uber producer Eidos is to be made into a film. I have to say I wasn't too interested until I saw the name Stanley Tong attached to direct.

Tong has done a fair bit of work with Jackie Chan on some high action martial arts movies, and despite the appearance of that awful Mr Magoo, his credits look quite good. Good enough to warrant the claim, through Sci Fi Wire ,from the producers that described the movie as...

...Mission: Impossible meets Silent Hill...

I'm not so sure, the attached writer has mainly TV credits to his name, but Fear Effect has an interesting storyline all laid out and all the material ready. Mind you, so did so many other videogames turned movies...1st person shooters and fighting games excluded!
