The talk is that work on the Friday the 13th remake has been halted, and may not resume. The reason quoted is a rights issue and the people who currently own the rights aren't exactly willing to sell, perhaps that's because they realise the way many remakes are going these days?

Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls) was signed on to direct the script written by Mark Wheaton. A few cast members have also already been cast in various roles, including Gary and Jake Busey. Corey Feldman has also signed on for a cameo which would make this the 3rd Friday the 13th film he has been in.

All for the best I think. Who would really want to see this remade? Is this remake going ahead just because they couldn't get away with another sequel and they wanted to drain out a little more cash from the franchise? Why not go for an Alien vs Predator vs Jason vs Freddy vs Pingu story? Surely this franchise is just getting ridiculous?
