Galactus and Surfer in Fantastic Four 2?

SilverSurfer.jpgAvi Arad has confirmed that Galactus will be in Fantastic Four 2, and there's hints that might also mean a Silver Surfer appearance.

From this months Empire Magazine come the comments through Superhero Hype (by the way guys, you must get your feed sorted):

"It's a couple of years later and we get to see what their life is like. What else is there for them to accomplish, what issues are in their lives, where's Doom?"

Regarding Galactus: "They'll be some pretty big surprises. What we're trying to do is not to show him, but to show someone else, initially."

Oh yes, speculation time people...by what Arad says there does he mean we'll see the origin of the Surfer? Oh you could read that into it of course, but perhaps it just means we'll feel Galactus' presence in some way...I am so hoping it's Surfer on the rise and fans love it so much we get to see a fully fledged Surfer film...

Calm Richard, calm. What do you think, and more importantly what do you want from FF2 and a Silver Surfer appearance?

The original Galactus/Surfer story (arguebly the greatest comic book story ever) only lasted about two and a half issues. It could easily be turned into a film with very little changes necessary.

That would be too simple for Hollywood no doubt though.

You dont happen to have that comic book issue Morbius? *winks*

Sigh, not the originals they are very expensive these days. I confess I do have reprints. The mid sixties Fantastic Four issues by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were wonderfully inventive stuff.

Hey, I wonder what John Byrne thought of the new X-Men film?

John Byrne is not a fan of most Superhero films (Notable exceptions being Superman the Movie and Batman Begins) and certainly not of the X-Men movies. As a member of his web forum and aware of his views on comic book movies, I am pretty sure he has not seen X3 and is in no rush to do so.

(John Byrne is the former artist/co-plotter of the X-Men comic during the classic lates 70's/early 80's era that produced "The Dark Phoenix Saga" and other storylines/characters which have been used in the X-Films.)

You said that very well Morbius.
