Halo delayed

Halo.jpgThe release date for the Halo movie seems to be slipping with various reports suggesting that it's moving into 2008.

This news through WhoDigs isn't really a surprise considering the amount of control the owners of Halo are retaining on the story and their requirement to adhere to the bible of the Halo universe. I think this is a good sign though, and it does suggest that there's a lot of care going into the development.

That, or they can't find a director that's big enough for them and willing to touch a videogame adaptation after so many have been bungled.

If that is the case something that the studios should realise is that the audience don't have it in for videogame adaptations, just ones that are made into bad movies. Or at least I think that is the case. One of the problems is that to someone who doesn't play games these all seem to be shooting games, or zombie killers...how can that make an interesting story? What does the average non-videogame player really think Halo is about and could turn out to be?
