Hugh Jackman talks The Fountain

HughJackman.jpgHugh Jackman has been speaking about The Fountain, that long awaited epic film from Darren Aronofsky, and he's dripping over with praise.

Speaking to Sci Fi Wire he says...

"I think that [The Fountain] is one of the most extraordinary things that I've ever seen, I saw it, and I thought, 'Oh, man, I'm so glad to be in that.' It's like nothing you've ever seen. I can guarantee you that, and I think that [director] Darren [Aronofsky] is the modern-day Kubrick...He spent six years trying to get that film made, and what he has made is unbelievable. I was just listening to the soundtrack, and it's all like nothing you've ever seen before."

Oh I'm so excited to see this film, and after seeing the trailer I just can't contain myself! This looks like a stunning epic...or a bizarre failure...but I really do think it will be the latter, could you see Jackman being so vocal for something that wasn't that good?

"This looks like a stunning epic...or a bizarre failure...but I really do think it will be the latter",

You really meant to say the former, did you Rich? ;-)

Aronofsky is the most promising American director; Pi: faith in chaos and Requiem for a Dream are up there with the absolute best modern American cinema.

I for one can't wait to see this ...

This can be a very special movie. The trailer, the pictures... the known script. It seems to be a very personal work, and an astounding one as well.

I heard it´s based in a graphic novel, but I don´t mind about that. I wanna see it virgin. Aronofski´s two previous films were umbeliavable. I can´t wait what can this guy make with a greater budget.

His(aronofski) films make me think for many days after seeing them. sure they have issues here and there, but they draw me into the believable worlds, have genuine feeling for the characters and walk away wanting more.

can't wait for this one to be released.

Yeah...I did a typo - huge apologies. I was rushing out for a screener. Review to follow.

The only feeling for the characters I got from Requiem For A Dream was loathing. Not mine, but Aronofsky's. I'll be interested to see the film, but I'd be lying if I said I was hanging out for it with bated breath.

I havent seen "Requiem for a Dream", will you recommend it James?

Warren Beatty has an interesting psychology. He has always fallen in love with girls who have just won or been nominated for an Academy award.
