Indiana Jones 4 completely different?

IndianaJones.jpgNews is coming out that the script for Indiana Jones 4 is complete and that is going to be, and I quote for this, completely different. Oh dear, what could that possibly mean for the hero and the film?

Over at IGN they have the quote from George Lucas:

"We're working on it, we're working on it," Lucas told MTV. "We've been working on it for 10 years. I think it'll be a great film, but it's completely different. It's still got a lot of action, and it's still very funny. I think it works like crazy."

That really does worry me, although I am tamed by the fact that Spielberg and Marshall have both accepted the script, but completely different? I certainly loved the way Jones was and his many exploits, could making it completely different remove itself too far from what made it so successful and enjoyable?

Ohhhh, he shouldn't have said that. I'm sure his peole will be reprimanding him for that.

When producers say things like that then you get geeks like us saying we don't want it changed and that ain't good for business!

Considering that IJ is basically a "genre picture" based on 50's serials, how far removed can it be whilst still being "completely different".

One of two things has happened, he's maybe had a slip of the tongue and not expressed what he meant to say properly, or else this really has been contemporised for mass consumption and forsaken it's roots.

Please God don't ruin my Indy!

Oh dear, is this the one where we find out that Indy's father was immaculately conceived and we have a new totally CGI character who the kids are going to love...

Hehe! Bring on the prequels!

Oh shut up Morbius. The Star Wars prequels are fine, you just grew up and lost your imagination. HMPFT!

As for this revelation from Lucas, I think it'll be just great. And Rynndar, you might be right, maybe it's just a slip of the tongue from good ole George. And shouldnt Spielberg have a say in this being the director, so why are we even going to worry much about it?

Theres only one person who can pull off the quirky smile after boulders, spears and spinning discs almost wipe him and the leading lady out of existence....

and thats indy.... don't change it. infact, if you are going to change it then don't release the film at all.

da da da daaaaaaa da da daaaa. da da daaaa daa da da daaaaaaaa ... gives me goose bumps everytime i hear it.

Oh dear, hit a nerve there did I Simone? :-D

You always know how to get me all riled up pal. :-)

Will it still be a 2007 release though? Harrison Ford is not getting any younger now you see.

I am very skeptical about this feature movie.

Very, very much.

Ye of little faith! What's the matter with all of you???

I rarely say this but if they're gonna make changes, I trust these guys. They've been grinding on this script for ages now and anyone who takes that much time has to filtering out a cretain amount of crap.

Hopefully it's still playful and adventurous. I don't think people wana see a drama from Indy just yet. It's been so long that they obviously have to make changes to the character but let's just hope it's believable.

The critics? No, I have nothing but compassion for them. How can I hate the crippled, the mentally deficient, and the dead?
