Keaton joins Reaper
Michael Keaton has signed up for the supernatural thriller called Reaper. The film sounds like a perfect vehicle for his talents, particularly that freaky stare he has.
From Production Weekly through Coming Soon...
...a stylish action-neo-noir film in the vein of Blade Runner, reports Production Weekly. Scott Kalvert will direct from a script by Gary Whitta, a comic book writer, novelist and video game developer.Reaper is the story of Virgil, a private investigator who finds himself recruited by the darkly beautiful and mysterious Delia. As he begins to work for Delia, Virgil is suddenly immersed in a surreal underworld, one where the boundaries of life and death, as well right and wrong, are completely blurred. This unlikely journey also reveals the harrowing answers to the fate of Virgil's own daughter.
Sounds intriguing, but then didn't White Noise and that wasn't received well, although I have to say I haven't seen it. Keaton though is one of those actors that always produces great performances in whatever he's in. Really, I've seen Jack Frost and he's good in it!
I think it's a shame that he just doesn't get better movies. Sometimes we see him pop up in a good film, but he's given such a small part these days. Looking down the list of films he's done there are some popping out that are big films, and then there are those that have fantastic performances, and there are more of those than not. What's your favourite Keaton role?
