Red Sonya remake

RedSonya.jpgThat Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Red Sonya is looking set for a remake, more bad Hollywood news, although to be fair the head of Millenium Films who are heading up the film has a fair point to make:

"The first movie was not a good one -- all the more reason to remake it. It is a great character and a great brand," said Joe Gatta

All the more reason. Why were there many other reasons to go and plunder another movie already made? The story from Variety and through Superhero Hype tells us all the bad news.

Millennium and Emmett/Furla picked up the film rights from Red Sonja, home of the comic book property. Last year, Dynamite Entertainment launched a new "Red Sonja" series that has gone on to be one of the best-selling indie comic books on the market.

Not only that they've picked up the rights to make a video game as well...oh great. Still, there's hope that they might look to the new and successful comic series rather than relying on the original movie. So who can play Sonja and live up to Neilson's talent?

Peter are you there, we were just discussing this the night before remember? We jinxed it mate!

I give up, let them remake every film there is, for all I care!

(With that I mean leave 'Star Wars' and 'The Godfather' alone)
