Rob Lowe in Stir of Echoes sequel

RobLowe.jpgRob Lowe is set to star in a sequel to the Kevin Bacon film Stir of Echoes. The original movie was really good and offered an extremely intense performance from Bacon as a man who begins to have visions which start to take over his life.

This sequel has already been written by Ernie Barbarash who, if it's the same person, wrote the Cube sequels.

The story, according to Coming Soon:

...revolves around a soldier who returns home from a tour of duty in Iraq only to be haunted by visions of the dead.

I'm not so sure this is such a good move for Lowe, if this film plays out as in no way connected with the original apart from inspired by, and the marketing doesn't try to play up to it then it might have a chance. However, can we really compare Bacon to Lowe? It'll be interesting to see how they handle this aspect and if Lowe can stand up against the performance of Bacon.

Ehh, the Cube sequels were kind of, grade B movies, good, but, definitely straight to video's.

And the story idea for this, ehh, just makes me think, name it something else and make it its own movie. Because if its not really really good, then its just a shame to add a sequel to Stir of Echoes, which was utterly fantastic I thought from start to finish.

I have not seen Stir of Echoes yet, is it any good?

People sometimes say that the way things happen in the movies is unreal, but actually it's the way things happen in real life that's unreal.
