Rodriguez Grind House gets cast

Great news for everyone awaiting the Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino double bill Grind House, Rodriguez's half has not stopped as was reported a few weeks ago, it is in fact very much on and casting is continuing.

Sci Fi Wire have the exciting casting news:

Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez and Josh Brolin will star in Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, a 60-minute zombie movie to be accompanied by a slasher film directed by Quentin Tarantino and released under the title Grind House...Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, Jeff Fahey, Michael Parks and the Black Eyed Peas' Stacy Ferguson also star...

That's a good casting so far, and it's good to see the film is still on the go. The rumours had actually said production had stopped and it looked dead. I'm quite interested in this project, but probably for different reasons to everyone else, I want to see the fake trailers that the duo are creating to surround the films. It kind of reminds me of Amazon Women on the Moon...!

Me too, the trailers really do make a huge point about what these guys actually have in mind for this release.

They seem determined to actually create a very specific type of experience for the movie-goer, and that gets me very excited. The idea that these guys have a checklist of things they want to show you and have you feel while you're in your seat is really a nice thought and to be quite honest, more flattering than most other film releases lately.

It seems very audience focused and not out to make some philosophical statement to further them onwards and up the filmic hierarchy. I really think we are in for something very special.

And you just know that these faux trailers are gonna be so good that people are gonna demand that at least one of them be made. I salivate at the thought.

I'm positively estatic this movie is still a go. I'm a big fan of both directors and look forward to quirky project.
