Saw 3 is kicking off filming with an official blog, and rather than hire someone in or grab some lesser member of the crew to blog about the film, they've grabbed the Directors assistant to get writing.

There's only a couple of entries so far, but you can tell this is going to be no straight diary of the filmmaking, in fact there's going to be some fun to be had here. I'll get it onto the Filmmakers Feed List this evening, but for now you can have a look at the official Saw 3 blog found through Jo Blo.

It’s inevitable. The stress is upon us and is bombarding its way into every department. And what better way to relieve this stress? Get everyone in a drunken stupor.

So Darren has decided to throw a kick-off party for all of his crew this weekend to celebrate the end of prep and toast to the beginning of the shoot!...

...Using the page/intercom system that he just recently discovered, he called over, one-by-one, every single crew member into his office. By the end of the day, Darren had successfully interrogated each person, from the office PA to the executive producer and got answers quickly. What became my job while this was happening? I was sitting next to him like a good assistant, recording a yes/no RSVP list, with termination papers close at hand. My next job after that? Writing up ads for new positions that just became available.

See? It does look like it's going to be a good laugh. Either that or he's serious. Perhaps he's offing the crew who don't go to the party for real in the film! As I say you'll see the feed appear on the Feed List (see the navigation drop down) this evening.
