IMDB has been playing with the cast lists for Spider-Man 3, and this means some serious changes. Is it ongoing misdirection, a sudden attempt at hiding the surprise baddie casting or just wild speculation...we do not know, yet the current listing is shocking.

Okay, this could be deemed as a spoiler if you haven't really been following the news so far, so I'm giving you a moment or two to look away to the next post. I'll reveal the casting update after the jump. Chances are though this is a mistake or misdirection, there's just no way it could be true.

Over at Comic Book Movie they have the story:

A few weeks ago they "de-listed" Topher Grace as "Venom", possibly as belated damage control to safeguard the "big surprise" of the movie, and now...According to IMDB.com, the sweet old lady who plays Peter's Aunt May is also slated to play the offspring of Venom--the bloodthirsty villain called Carnage!

That's totally ridiculous. Really. I'm sure that can't be the actual truth of the tale...can it?

Mind you, they also have...

...and we've heard nothing about that character during the filming. I'm voting misdirection - what do you say?
