Stone's WTC at Cannes

OliverStone.jpgOliver Stone's new film World Trade Center is to be shown in a twenty minute trailer form at Cannes after a screening of Platoon. This may be the first real taste of just what tone the film will take.

Earlier we talked about the new site and how the tone of the was very somber and held a similar tone to United 93's advertising.

According to Filmstew...

Stone will be featured at the Cannes Classic program with a new print of Platoon, and he'll arrive with some of the major cast members of the film in tow.

I don't think that this can go any other way than concentrating on these two policemen and keeping the tone somber, real and very respectful. In a way I even wonder why they've called it World Trade Center because the focus is reportedly on these two last survivors and not the entire tragedy itself.

Fuck the critics. They're like eunuchs. They can tell you how to do it, but they can't do it themselves.
