Superman sequel kills Logans Run?
Could there be a Superman Returns sequel beginning as early as the end of 2007, and would this mean that the Bryan Singer remake of Logan's Run would have to either be delayed or passed onto another Director? There's certainly already an IMDB entry for it!
The suggestion from Variety through Superhero Hype is that this just might be the case as if Singer is asked to do the sequel so soon, and he accepts, he might not want to do the Logan's Run film. There's a lot of ifs and maybes in there, but...
Assuming Singer's take on the Caped Crusader is a crowd-pleaser, Warners plans to start shooting the sequel in the later part of 2007, with Singer again at the helm.Even if he doesn't direct "Logan's Run," Singer is still likely to play some sort of role and perhaps take a producer's credit. Silver has been developing the project for some time now, with input from Singer.
There's been buzz that "V For Vendetta" director James McTeigue might step in and helm "Logan's Run," but at this point it's just rumor.
Well actually I'd say the whole lot is a rumour, but a pretty strong one none the less. if the Superman film is successful we're guaranteed a second one, and the chances are that WB would want Singer to carry the duties. If Singer agrees to the sequel, he could either delay Logan or pass on Directorial duties...I don't know, I think there's too much guesswork on that one although the sequel is a pretty safe bet, but frankly I'd rather see Logan remade by Singer than seeing Superman again so soon.
