Transformers cast - characters are aliases?

Transformers.jpgWith the latest news of the human casting for the new Transformers movie, something interesting crops up on Michael Bay's blog. According to him there are only a few people who know the real character names are and that the names being leaked are aliases to keep the actual names from the public.

Over at the Michael Bay Blog he seems to be a little miffed at the leaks coming out:

It's a bit tiresome to watch all the supposed script leaks on Don Murphy's site....I'm going to let everyone in on a little secret. Something that the writers don't know, nor my crew, or Steven Spielberg, or the presidents of Paramount and Dreamworks. Not even Don Murphy who is not involved on the day to day with this movie.

Many of the names in the script are aliases.

The only people that know the real names of many of these characters are the COO of Hasbro, their corporate lawyer and myself. I think this is two less people that knew the secret recipe for Coca-Cola.

He goes onto say that his contract has NDA's on the character names and that the writers had to write the script to ensure actors didn't need to refer to their characters names. For example, he says, Devastator isn't really Devastator.

Could this mean that actors cast in the so called human roles might not be, and might actually be voices for Transformers? Personally I think the fact that Michael Duncan is cast as a human right now adds weight to the possibility.

Why should people go out and pay money to see bad films, when they can stay home and see bad television and pay nothing?
