Hopkins Slipstream gains cast
The casting for Anthony Hopkins new film Slipstream, which he both wrote and directed, is growing in size and stature.
John Turturro, Camryn Manheim, Jeffrey Tambor, S. Epatha Merkerson, Fionnula Flanagan, Christopher Lawford and Michael Clark Duncan have joined the ensemble cast...Hopkins, Christian Slater, Stella Arroyave, Lisa Pepper, Kevin McCarthy, Gavin Grazer, Aaron Tucker and Lana Antonova already have joined the cast.
Wow. That's a huge list from Reuters in so many ways, not top ten actors, but really some really strong names. I guess Hopkins has some great pulling power.
The blurb for his story is quite interesting, especially as Reuters bill it as a comedy, from IMDB:
Aging screenwriter Felix Bonhoeffer (Slater) has lived his life in two states of existence: in reality and hbis own interior world. While working on a murder mystery script, and unaware that his brain is on the verge of implosion, Felix is baffled when his characters start to appear in his life, and vice versa.
Hopkins has directed before, but this is his first writing outing. Another interesting project which has a lot of promise. Is it the case that when your career is so big you start to look back to the smaller more interesting projects? Seems true of many of the top stars today.
