Magnum P.I. update
A Producer of the TV series of Magnum P.I. has spoken about the new film, and the lack of Tom Selleck in the main role. There's not much to be said, but the latest news on the movie version is that the script is being re-written and that there may well be a big name producer attached.
According to IGN UK:
"I know for a fact that there was a script that Imagine developed that they didn't really feel captured the essence of the series, so they're on to a second writer now. Don Bellisario and Glen Larson have both been contacted about being consultants and executive producers, but I think it's going to be a Brian Grazer movie. I think it will happen, but I don't know,"
Really there's not much more that Charles Floyd Johnson does know of the movie version. Yes Selleck blew his chances waiting for a feature version rather than a TV version, but I think he was right to. He'd done so many series, what was the point of doing an elongated TV episode? He wanted to bring it to the big screen and he stuck to his guns, now he doesn't want thrown scraps of a cameo in the film version he tried so hard to get made.
So who will play Magnum? No one yet knows although Clooney keeps being banded around I'm not so sure. Who do you think it should be for Magnum?
