McGuigan helms Equalizer and Knights

PaulMcGuigan.jpgThe director of Lucky Number Slevin, Wicker Park, Gangster No. 1 and The Acid House, Paul McGuigan, is signed up to direct both The Equalizer and Four Knights, a film based on the play Four Knights in Knaresboro, a tale which seems as dark as many of his other films.

From Variety through Coming Soon comes the news that he's signed to direct the film through the Weinstein brothers. The original playwright Paul Webb will adapt the play for the screen.

So that's the main story, but it was while looking at his bio on IMDB that I caught the Equalizer connection. I frankly thought that this movie might be a poor remake, but when I saw McGuigan connected I suddenly had serious hope for it. I just keep thinking of Gangster No.1 when I think of Equalizer on screen. Damn, that would be great.
