Looks like the power of one celebrity has helped ensure the casting for Lucy Ewing in the Dallas movie falls to someone who isn't so...exposed. Previously on Filmstalker rumours were that either Jessica Simpson or Lindsey Lohan were being considered for Lucy Ewing...well now they aren't and according to rumour Jennifer Lopez had a hand in the matter.

According to US Weekly Blog through Hollywood Wiretap and Cinematical, there's more to it than the studio alone.

"Producers wanted to steer clear of the drama." Not only that, but JLo herself was reportedly opposed to Simpson (and, it must be said, all big stars) as well, because "She doesn't want a diva on the set."

Mirror please. Apparently the role has now gone to Katie Cassidy who appears to be climbing up the roles of late.

Well that's not selling it to me yet, I really need to hear if the rumoured big names are solid, and if SImpson is definitely not in it!
