Oh it's not the casting news I was after for the much anticipated Splinter Cell film from Peter Berg, but it's very close. The boss, Irving Lambert.

News is that the character will be played by the man you'll most likely remember from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as the father, Philip Banks. James Avery is set to play the part of the gruff voiced man in charge of the secret organisation.

It's great news, although I have to say I was hoping for President Palmer, aka Dennis Haysbert to reprise is earlier voice role. Still, I think it's a great choice. Now we have to hope that the choice of actor for Sam Fisher is just as well chosen.

Me, I'd still like Michael Ironside, but perhaps he's just too old for the part...Kurt Russell?
