Star Wars and Indiana Jones 4 dates
The Licensing International Trade show is where companies sell off the licensing rights to their products, and on our case we're talking big movies. Films like Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix and the big name, Star Wars.
A report from The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon lets us know what's in store for Star Wars.
...the first CG-animated "Star Wars" TV series slated for 2008, a live-action "Star Wars" series in preproduction, a new video game from LucasArts tied to the 30th anniversary of "Star Wars" that will be released in fall 2007, the release of the original versions of the first three "Star Wars" films on DVD singles in the fall and a new Lego "Star Wars" video game based on the original trilogy, also scheduled for fall.Howard Roffman, president of Lucas Licensing, said the Lucasfilm division also will be looking for licensing partners for the summer 2007 release of a new "Indiana Jones" video game from LucasArts and the summer 2008 release of a new "Indiana Jones" movie.
On the Star Wars side, to be honest my views now are so tarnished that I'm not interested in any merchandising. Perhaps the next thing that will grab me is the complete boxset on HD, but until then I'm dulled to the idea.
However on the Indiana Jones front, if there are deals being done for the release of merchandise then they must be pretty confident that there's going to be a movie around that time, surely? Does this mean there are more certainties than we know about?
