Stop-Loss Iraq war drama

AbbieCornish.jpgWe're seeing more and more films based around the Iraq War begin production. Stop-Loss is another such movie which concentrates more on this side of the war when a soldier decides not to return, despite being called to by the military through this stop-loss procedure.

Ryan Phillippe is in negotiation to play the soldier with Abbie Cornish already signed for the female lead according to The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon.

The film is to be directed by Kimberly Peirce who also co-wrote the script.

It does sound an interesting story, and looks to bring us a very human side to the Iraq War, but who is shouting too soon on this genre?

I've wondered what Ryan Philippe has been up to.
