The Descent (review) is a superb horror from Neil Marshall, the man who brought us another superb horror, Dog Soldiers (review on my personal site), and until this year it's not really had a wide release around the world. That has been changing though, and now there's a US release date too.

Over at Cinematical they have the details, and through IMDB you can see the growing tide of worldwide releases.

Now that it has been just about everywhere else, the US is scheduled for an August 4th release date. I like that, make them wait around for a change!

My advice is to go and see it. It's a superbly crafted horror with Marshall's talent shining through. Just don't get hung up on those poor US posters advertising the film.
