The Stepfather to be remade
Now the remake machine trundles to 1987 with a remake of the horror movie The Stepfather. That's only nineteen years old!
From Variety through Coming Soon we hear the dreadful news:
Screen Gems has acquired remake rights to 1987 horror movie The Stepfather for Greg Mooradian and Maverick Films to produce, says Variety. In the original, which was based on a true story, Terry O'Quinn (Lost) plays a seemingly normal man, who wants the perfect family. When they don't measure up, he eliminates them and moves on to find his next perfect family.
Maybe it's not so bad, after all it spawned a remake and perhaps we could do with seeing a modern remake of the movie? However will fans of the original object to a remake of what is considered by some to be a classic? After all Mooradian is making the P-Diddly movie so he's gotta be good hasn't he?
