The news for Potter and his crew is not so good, for according to J. K. Rowling two characters are going to die in the final book, and they are big characters too.

Speaking on Richard & Judy on British TV, Rowling said, through Coming Soon:

"The final chapter is hidden away, although it's now changed very slightly. One character got a reprieve. But I have to say two die that I didn't intend to die," she said. "A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don't target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do."...

..."The last book is not finished. But I'm well into it now. I wrote the final chapter in something like 1990, so I've known exactly how the series is going to end."

Interestingly she said that she had the desire to bump Harry off before the final book, therefore stopping anyone from having the chance of going on with the character...I guess that means Harry isn't one of the ones to die...or is he? Muuhahahahaha!

Actually, I don't really mind, and looking at it from a non-fan point of view I would have thought killing him off and revealing that the whole storyline was leading to a different character would have been the ultimate surprise ending. Perhaps it still could be!
