Williams talks more Joker

RobinWilliams.jpgI think Robin Williams is a fantastic actor, and in a way I think it would be a shame for his talents to be used on the Joker in the new Batman sequel rather than a strong solid reality based role. However, he's been talking about the possibility again and he's very keen.

Over at IGN UK he talks about the idea, as well as discussing comics and graphic novels. Seems he's keen on the Arkham Asylum storyline...

"Oh God, I'd love to do that one...Well, you want to do a different Joker. You know, if they do Arkham Asylum, it would be amazing. Arkham Asylum is one of the greatest, nastiest comic books ever. It's truly, it's like the Marquee de Sade on that level, and wonderfully damaged and quite tragic, in terms of when you realize [what happened to] create these characters..."

I loved his performances in Insomnia and in particular One Hour Photo, and he really surprised me with his intensity and ability. Sure I knew he could act, but not that convincingly. I would always think of him as Williams and about to crack a joke, but no more with that performance.

Personally I'd love to see more of that than him in a Joker role...and I also don't see it, if we're doing an origin piece then the joker will look more like the Arkam Asylum type, skinny, lanky, and insane...there are other choices out there, who would you pick?
