30 Days of Night gains Melissa George

30DaysofNight.jpgMelissa George has joined Josh Hartnett in the cast of 30 Days of Night, the Sam Raimi produced and David Slade (Hard Candy (review)) directed movie about vampires attacking a northern Alaskan town which is set to suffer exactly what the title says, a month of darkness.

The story from Steve Niles' graphic novel sounds superb, and with Slade and Raimi bringing it to film I'm sure we're in for a great ride. Although I had my own doubts about Hartnett, they were soon cleared up in Lucky Number Slevin (review) just recently, and with the news from Twitch that George is now cast, we're in for some strong performances.

I first saw George on Home and Away and it was amazing how she really didn't catch my eye at all, and then Dark City opened my eyes to her, so by the time she became a regular in Alias I was hooked.

There's nothing but good thoughts coming out of this film, so let's get a move on!
