Another teen book trilogy - Firestorm
Here we go again. Warner has bought the rights to David Klass' novel Firestorm. This book is the first in a trilogy, a trilogy which hasn't yet been written. With amazing foresight (sarcasm) Warner has the option on the next two novels as well.
According to Variety through Coming Soon...
Firestorm revolves around a seemingly normal high school senior who finds himself at the center of an epic battle that's being fought both now and a thousand years in the future. The fate of Earth hangs in the balance
However, there is a lot more hope for this series, Klass is a well known scriptwriter for films such as Kiss the Girls, Desperate Measures and Walking Tall, which I really liked. The series also has a major environmental focus, Firestorm is actually endorsed by Greenpeace. The following two novels Whirlwind and Timelock, will focus on rainforests and global warming.
Actually despite the off hand title I gave the story this does sound quite interesting, hopefully the two highlighted elements of environmental concern and teen trilogy won't overpower the story.
