Black Dahlia pictures online

BrianDePalma.jpgThe set pictures for The Black Dahlia, Brian De Palma's latest film, carry stern warnings of adult content, and I don't mean for sexual content. For those of you who don't know the film is based around the infamous and brutal murder of a young woman in the 1940's.

The story looks at the police investigation and the revelation of a conspiracy and cover up (they make the best movies), and stars Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johansson, Hilary Swank and Aaron Eckhart to name but a few, and is adapted from a James Ellroy novel.

Before you go and look at the set pictures I shall warn you, the image on the top row in the middle is stunningly realistic and very unnerving. It features the recreation of the brutalised corpse atop a coroners table with the stars around it, and it's very realistic and very disturbing.

There, I don't think I could have made that warning any stronger. Luckily the image is in a thumbnail, so you won't get too much detail if you don't look at it. The pictures can be found at Kineo Express through Arrow in the Head.

Aside from that one photo, the rest give a glorious feel of 1940's, and with De Palma at the helm I'm sure we're in for a great ride.

Luckily, I am familiar with the case, and the James Elroy novel from which is based this movie. I worry about the cast. I heard it´s the opening movie for Venecia festival.

The pic is certainly gruesome. Will Fincher with Zodiac be like that as well, or will he dwell on subtle darkness?

Actually, the book was based on a murder that occurred in the 1950s and included some of the same characters from Ellroy's later LA Confidential.

Brayden, as it says in the above story, based on the murder in the 1940's, and the film is adapted from the Ellroy novel.

Didn't realise there was a character continuity in the novels though.

I've always wondered about this story. Now I'll be able to delve into it myself.

and that picture...the one you warned us about...is grotesque...very very realistic. They're not shooting for the PG rating here, eh...
