Bond 22 directing rumours
There are new rumours about a possible director for the next Bond movie, that's the one after the currently filming Casino Royale. Still starring Daniel Craig, the film hasn't yet received a director or writer.
Back in may I wrote about the Casino Royale sequel getting underway early, mainly so that the series didn't miss that elusive 2007 date and also to take advantage of Craig one would think, and the rumour then was...
...The report claims that playwright/Oscar-winning screenwriter Tom Stoppard is "in talks" to pen the screenplay...Stoppard is not unfamiliar with the espionage genre. He is currently rewriting The Bourne Ultimatum......also claims that Eon Prods. are "in negotiations" with South African-born director Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes) to helm Bond 22.
Surprisingly the news has resurfaced over at The Hollywood Reporter through Rope of Silicon and again confirms that Michell is in talks and that they are looking for a screenwriter to produce an original story, i.e. not based on a Fleming novel.
Here we go again...
