I think Depp's gone on record saying that he would be happy to play Captain Jack Sparrow for at least another few films - he simply loves the role, and personally I love him in the role too, but I guess it depends on how they develop the story, as it's already getting fairly complicated - of course we won't know until next year and how Part 3 turns out, but if Depp's there for possible future movies, and they just mix up the rest of the cast to keep things fresh (losing Orlando Bloom wouldn't bother me) it would be enough to keep me interested I think.

I am not a fan of the franchise at all. I only saw it when it was released in 2003 mainly because of Depp. I have yet to see the sequel which I am not really in a rush to do so as I want another viewing of Superman Returns soon so I cant really say I am that excited to see a 4th, and of course the yet to be released 3rd.

I wont be surprised now if there will be demand for a tv spin-off in the future.

I have enjoyed both Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest without being blown away by either. The set up for At World's End is excellent, so I am looking forward to that. But as far as beyond the trilogy goes, I'm not too sure.

Personally I'd much rather a Jack Sparrow movie. Every pirate has great tales, let's see some of his on the big screen.

There needs to be a 4th Pirates of the Caribbean, the ending was left way too wide open. It can’t end this way. When I left the theatres that movie got me thinking about it all night (no sleep) I mean come on, yall are making more than millions off these movies (no disrespect there). Just make at least one more. Yes give the main characters a break for a while and then start back up with the 4th Pirate movie. Does Will only get one day on land every ten years? My brother said he gets to return for good to Elizabeth because she kept his heart safe and she was loyal.

And Davy Jones according to my brother chose to stay at sea for the rest of his life because his girl was unfaithful!

Am i right in sayin all this? I really hope Will and Elzabeth do get to return and live together again cuz its reali sad seein them parted :(

You've got some good ideas there, but the main point is that the curse is there no matter what. Davey Jones' payment for not travelling with the souls was his present form, that was explained.

The ending of Pirates 3 was too wide open...there HAS TO BE a sequal!! Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) continues to sail for 'The Fountain of Youth' after steeling the map from captain barbosa at the end (and after navigating and finding another rum)! LOL

There are too many fans out there, me included, that have not only watched, but have become part of the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. To many of us have dreamed that maybe, just maybe, there is actual reality behind the making. That maybe it isn't just a movie. While these dreams may not come true, we still need something to hold on to, to keep our minds soaring through the mysteries that the producers and directors of Pirates of the Caribbean have provided us with. pirates of the caribbean movies are the best ever, i would run round the world twice to see a following 4,5 and 6 potc movies and they need to keep the original cast without them it would'nt be the same.

Well not quite signed, as with most franchises he'll probably have a little clause in his contract for the previous three that "reserves" him if they do another one, although he still has the chance to say no.

There's nothing concrete on the film as yet though, and a few actors, including Knightley, have said no to it already.

I would be absolutely delighted if there was another Pirates, if Keira has said no, that is really sad. I am an aspiring actress and am taking theatre in school and she has really inspired me that you can make it big young, though there are some amazing actors out there who are waiting tables and never had their big brake and maybe never will. Johnny has also been a HUGE inspiration as he is an AMAZING actor and one of my favorites. He can step into the shoes of any character, from a robot with sisscorhands, to a michievious and yet heroic pirate, to a clean and charming English gentleman. He also becomes the charater! that is so hard to do, epscially in the variety of characters he does!! i think there should be a new potc4. i personally love all the characters i also think that if Will Turner survives this one and becomes the captain of the flying dutchmen, how will his love for elizabeth and for that matter how will elizabeth love for him last. there is only one way. if he is to be immortal than she needs to become immortal there are very few ways to do that but i am sure that the writers will be able to come up with something like the fountain of youth (wink wink) or her becomming a goddess like calypso/tia dalma only not as michievious

After seeing POTC 3 the ending pretty much wraps up the Will & Elizabeth storyline. Final scene 10 years later and she and their child are standing on the cliff awaiting his return for the day. AKA his true love waited for him.
That being said did anyone notice how the movies came full circle? In the first it starts with a child singing "A Pirate's Life for Me". At the end of 3 a child singing "A pirate's Life for Me". In 1 the first that is seen of Cap. Jack Sparrow is in the dinghy. In 3 the last that is seen of him is in the dinghy. His compass points to what he wants most. At first it points behind him (his rum). Then it points to the open sea which has always been what he wants. I think the writers did a wonderful job wrapping up most of the characters. Still... I would like to know how the Black Pearl ended up in the depths of the sea (remember Davy Jones raised it back up so Jack could be captain for 13 years. That was their deal). Another thing I would like to know is what was behind the vendetta Cutler Beckett had against Jack Sparrow. There was some hinting around and we know that Beckett left his mark on Sparrow (branding the letter P) but what mark did Sparrow leave on Beckett and what was the betrayal? Anyone have a guess?

There has to be a 4th installment of Pirates of the Carribean. And how can all the cast not return? They had to know that they left the ending to At World's End open to another film, so I think the entire cast will return. Please do. My name is Robb Morton and I am a good freind of Jerry Bruckheimer. I have also worked with Jerry, on many of his films.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there will be no POTC 4 ......

Jerry was excited to make it happen and even went so far as to confirm that ALL the original stars, including Johnny Depp, would return. They all agreed, as long as production was coordinated to prevent any interference with any of their other commitments they have. Jerry said he could make sure this would happen ..... Great news up to that point.

Then Disney spoke ....

They said they would not allow the rights for a POTC 4 !! Can you believe this ?? Disney has made more money on the POTC franchise, than any other Disney film series before it. Between the royalties from the film itself, combined with all the residuals from all the products (books, toys, costumes, etc), Disney could even afford to see a POTC 4 "tank" and they would not lose one penny from it, because of all the money that CONTINUES to roll in from POTC 1-3. And of course with Jerry Bruckheimer involved, there's no way this would happen anyway.

I suggest that all of you who really want to see a POTC 4, need to write and email Disney with your concerns and protests and let them know you want to see a POTC 4. Disney may ignore Producers, Directors, Actors and the like. But I guarantee you, they will not ignore the public, if they get enough pressure from all of us.

It's in your hands ... want to see a POTC 4? LET DISNEY HEAR FROM YOU AND EVERYONE YOU KNOW !!
