The Hero of Color City is a CG animated film that will come out of Magnolia Pictures and promises the story of a group of crayons who are striving to save their world from an evil tyrant, presumably an evil tyrant who wants to rid their world of colour.

The crayons will have their own personalities, blue cool, red angry, you get the simplistic pictures, after all it's for kids. Yet none of this is what interested me in the story over at Coming Soon, not even the spelling of color, no, it's the statement from the executive producer who is so focussed on the kids. It's all about the kids.

"The first mark a child will often make in their life is with a crayon," said executive producer Max Howard. "What better way to encourage and inspire children than with a vivid world of crayons brought to life."

...or what better way to rope in the merchandising and movie going lifestyle by getting them hooked as young as possible by showing them talking crayons...am I too cynical?
