Previously I wrote about the new Bruce Lee film based on his younger brothers biography of his life and made with the family blessing, now word is out that Donnie Yen is in negotiations for the role.

According to crienglish.com through Kung Fu Cult Cinema, the major financial backer has requested that the role of Lee be played by a real martial artist who is Chinese and also a real actor, oh and they must have Hollywood experience. No tall order there then, but Yen does tend to fit the profile.

I have to say I don't really know Yen's filmography that well, but looking through it and his profile, he certainly matches the requirements, but will Lee's fans accept Yen in the role, and what will the new story bring?
